MONTGOMERY, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team fell 4-0 on the road Wednesday night to the defending NACC Tournament Champion Aurora University Spartans. Rockford was able to keep the game close throughout the first half, as the Regents trailed just 1-0 at the break. However, the Spartans continued to pepper the net in the second half, finishing with a 17-2 advantage in shots on goal, which translated into a trio of second-half goals and 4-0 victory.
- RU keeper Andrik Vidaurri had an incredible opening 45 minutes in net. Vidaurri made a season-high 10 saves in the first half of the match.
- However, the Spartans were able to sneak one shot past the Regent keeper. Max Crawford broke the scoreless tie in the 12th minute to give Aurora a 1-0 advantage heading into the half.
- Unfortunately, the second half belonged to Aurora.
- Enrique Gonzalez scored goals in the 49th and 63rd minutes to extend the Spartans' lead to 3-0.
- Brandon Dolezal tacked on the final goal of the match in the 70th minute, as Aurora went on to win by a final score of 4-0.
