ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team fell 4-0 to the visiting Aurora University Spartans in a Wednesday afternoon NACC matchup. Aurora dominated the match, leading in shots 32-1 and shots on goal 10-1, but Rockford was able to edge out the Spartans 6-1 in saves. The Spartans were able to find the back of the net three times in the first half to roll out to a 3-0 lead at the half. The second half was much closer, but the Spartans were able to extend their lead with another goal in the second half en route to the 4-0 win over Rockford.
- The Spartans broke the scoreless tie in the 18th minute after a pass from Carlos Viayra found Adrian Maldonado for the Aurora score.
- Aurora added on to its lead with another goal in the 24th minute to make it a 2-0 lead for the Spartans.
- Rockford looked to cut the Spartan lead in half with a shot from Bryan Maldonado, but his try was saved by the Aurora keeper to keep the Regents scoreless.
- The Spartans scored once more before the end of the first half, this time in the 43rd minute to make it a 3-0 game going into the half.
- Aurora was able to find the back of the net again in the 61st minute on a goal by Enrique Gonzalez to make it a 4-0 match.
- Rockford struggled to get anything going offensively for the remainder of the match and the Spartans were able to take the 4-0 win.
