FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Rockford University men's soccer team fell 3-1 on the road Saturday afternoon at Marian University. Despite what the final score might indicate, the match was actually extremely tight until late. Marian led just 1-0 at the half and did not score its first goal of the match until the 31st minute. The score remained unchanged until the 67th minute when Marian scored on a penalty kick to make it 2-0. They would add one more goal before Rockford scored its first goal in the 84th minute. The biggest difference in the match was Marian's ability to produce shots on goal. The Sabres ended the match with eight shots on goal compared to only one for Rockford.
- Neither team was able to get much of anything going over the first 31:10 seconds of the match as the two teams combined for a total of 3 shots on goal.
- Marian broke through at the 31:38 mark with the first goal of the match off the foot of Nathan Blazenko.
- The score remained unchanged until the 67th minute. Marian's Nathan Blazenko scored his second goal of the match, this one on a penalty kick, to give his team a 2-0 advantage.
- The Sabres would essentially put the match out of reach in the 76th minute following a Connor Powers goal to make it a 3-0 advantage.
- Rockford was however finally able to get on the board in the 84th minute. Javier Palacios found the back of the net off an assist by Bryan Maldonado.
- Unfortunately, it was not enough as the Regents fell 3-1 to the Sabres.
