Turelli's Masterful Performance and Perez's Walk-Off Push Regents to Sweep over St. Norbert

BELOIT, Wis. - The Rockford University baseball team grabbed two important wins 11-1 and 5-4 over the St. Norbert College Green Knights in a Saturday afternoon NACC showdown. The Regents played an all-around tremendous game one getting a masterful performance from Paul Turelli, who was perfect through 4.0 innings and did not allow a hit until the 5th. Offensively, the Regents struck early and often, plating three in the 2nd, five in the 5th and two more in the 6th en route to the big 11-1 win in game one. Game two was a back-and-forth battle, with the Regents striking first, to grab an early lead, but the Green Knights quickly tied it up. Rockford got another great outing from a starting pitcher, this time from Brayden Bidwell, who delivered a strong 4.0 innings of work, only allowing 1 hit. The Regents got a jolt in the 5th inning with a solo swat in the left by Joseph Stagowski to give Rockford the 2-1 lead at the time. St. Norbert was able to tie it again in the 7th and eventually take the 4-3 lead in the 8th, but Rockford eventually tied the game. With the game tied and runners at 1st and 2nd, Alex Perez delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th to win the game for the Regents and complete the sweep of the Green Knights. These two big wins for Rockford propel them into 7th place in the NACC standings, with the top 8 set to qualify for the NACC tournament.
