ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University men's volleyball team lost 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-16) to the visiting Concordia University of Wisconsin Falcons in a Friday night NACC matchup to wrap up the season for the Regents. Rockford battled in each of the first two sets, trading points with the Falcons down to the wire, but both times Concordia Wisconsin was able to come out on top. In the final set, the Falcons were able to get out to a quick lead and never really looked back, taking the third set and the match overall.
- The first set got out to an 8-8 deadlock, with each team trading points and the Regents getting 2 kills from Josh Albers and 1 from Danny Karpenko and Joaquin Santillan.
- This set continued to be a battle as it found its way to a slight 21-19 Falcon lead, but then the Regents were able to string together back-to-back kills by Nathan Vana and Josh Albers to equalize the game at 21-21, unfortunately, CUW scored the next four-out-of-five points and took set one 25-22.
- The Regents were able to get out to a 10-9 lead to open the second set, after a kill by Connor McNear.
- The Falcons were able to put together 7 straight points to take a big 16-10 lead.
- Rockford was quickly able to cut the lead to four, but unfortunately after this point the Regents found themselves down by at least five the rest of the way through and Concordia Wisconsin held on for the 25-19 second set win to go up 2-0 in the match.
- The Falcons got off to a hot start in the third set, finding their way to an 11-3 lead.
- CUW was able to stay in control and the Regents were never able to overcome the hot start by the Falcons allowing them to take the third set 25-16 and take the match in straight sets.
- Isaiah Dixon recorded a team-high 11 kills, also delivering a season-high 3 aces.
- Josh Albers delivered 5 kills on just 9 attempts, also picking up 16 assists and 5 digs.
- Tsubasa Namai put up 8 assists and 4 digs.
