LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University women's soccer team opened up its season with a 1-0 loss on Saturday morning to the Spalding University Golden Eagles. Despite being outshot 30-1 including 12-1 on shots on goal, the Regents were able to keep the match within striking distance for the entire match. The match entered the half with neither team able to find the back of the net thanks to some fantastic goalkeeping by 
Kaeleigh Taylor. The Golden Eagles were finally able to break the scoreless tie in the 53rd minute and eventually held on for the win over Rockford. 
	- Even though the Regents were outshot 11-1 in the first half, Rockford was able to keep the game scoreless through one half. Rockford goalkeeper Kaeleigh Taylor was phenomenal in the net, racking up 5 saves in the first half.
 
	- The Golden Eagles were finally able to break the scoreless tie in the 53rd minute on a goal by Emma Livingston to take a 1-0 advantage. 
 
	- After Spalding found the back of the net, Taylor did not allow another ball to find the back of the net, saving the next six shots by the Golden Eagles
 
	- Rockford continued to battle to try and equalize the game, keeping the game at just a one-score deficit, but found it tough to get it going offensively. 
 
	- The Regents fought until the end, but the Golden Eagles were able to hold on and spoil the season opener for Rockford, taking the 1-0 win.
