LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Edgewood College Eagles in a Tuesday night NACC meeting. Edgewood was in control in nearly every facet of the match, leading in shots 23-1, shots on goal 9-0 and corner kicks 13-0. This led to the Eagles scoring twice within the first 17 minutes of the match to take an early 2-0 lead. Rockford struggled to get things going offensively and the Eagles were able to hold on for the win.
- The Eagles struck early with a goal by Grace Johnson in the 9th minute to put Edgewood on top.
- Edgewood doubled its lead in the 17th minute on a goal scored by Rylee Brotz. Brotz was assisted on the play by Riley Haertle to put the Eagles up 2-0.
- Rockford did have an opportunity to cut into the Edgewood lead in the 82nd minute with a shot from Silia Banza, but unfortunately the shot went just wide, keeping the Regents scoreless.
- The Eagles were able to stay in control and keep RU off the board, allowing them to take the 2-0 win.
