ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 67-51 to the MSOE Raiders in a Saturday afternoon conference meeting. The Regents actually took 15 more shot attempts than MSOE, but the Raiders shot the ball well, making four more shots than Rockford. The Raiders shot 19-43 (44.2%) from the floor, while the Regents were held to a season-low 15-58 (25.9%) on the afternoon. MSOE was also in control on the defensive side of the glass, holding a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. This ultimately allowed the Raiders to stay in control and eventually walk away with the 16-point victory.
- The Raiders got out to a 7-1 lead over the first four and a half minutes of the game.
- Rockford was able to get back into the game with a 9-5 run over the next 3 minutes and 14 seconds to make it a 12-10 MSOE lead. Nia Wilkerson led Rockford with 4 points during the spurt.
- The Raiders made the final shot of the quarter to take a 15-10 lead going into the second quarter.
- MSOE quickly took control of the game in the second quarter as they opened with a 9-2 run to take a 24-12 lead.
- Rockford made it a 24-18 game after 2 free throws from Katie Paredes and two layups from D'Asia Washington, but the Raiders remained in control, closing out the first half with an 8-2 run to take a 32-20 lead into the break.
- The Raiders opened the second half with 7-straight points to take a commanding 39-20 lead.
- Unfortunately, the Raiders stayed in control, not relinquishing their double-digit lead for the entirety of the quarter and holding a 52-37 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
- Rockford was unable to get any closer than 13 the rest of the way and the Raiders led by as many as 22 in the fourth quarter as they eventually won by a final score of 67-51.
- D'Asia Washington provided 16 points and just missed a double-double with 9 rebounds. She also picked up 1 assist and 2 steals.
- Katie Paredes added 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block and 3 steals.
