PLYMOUTH, Wis. - The Rockford University women's basketball team fell 70-48 on the road Saturday afternoon at Lakeland University. Rockford played well in the second and third quarters, but unfortunately, struggled mightily in the first and fourth quarters. The Regents were outscored 32-10 in the first and were never quite able to recover. Rockford did a good job holding Lakeland to just 37.7% shooting, but could not capitalize on it, as the Regents shot only 28.1% from the floor. However, the game ultimately came down to turnovers and points off turnovers. Rockford turned the ball over a season-high 33 times leading to 37 Lakeland points. Conversely, the Regents only scored 11 points off Lakeland's 16 turnovers.
- Lakeland scored the first seven points of the day, as a part of a larger 13-2 run, and jumped out to a double-digit lead less than four minutes into the game.
- With the Muskies holding a 22-10 lead and less than 2 minutes left in the first quarter, Lakeland scored the final ten points of the period to take a 32-10 lead into the second.
- Lakeland led by as many as 25 in the second quarter, but Rockford played the Muskies to a 14-14 draw in the period, as Lakeland took a 46-24 advantage into the break.
- The third quarter however belonged to the Regents. Rockford outscored Lakeland 17-7 in the period and got all the way back to within 12 points.
- The Regents used an 11-0 run to make it a 51-35 game with 3:47 remaining in the third. Four different Regents scored over that stretch, led by four points from D'Asia Washington.
- After a bucket by Lakeland, D'Asia Washington scored the final six points of the period to make it a 53-41 game heading into the fourth quarter.
- Unfortunately, that is where the Regents' comeback attempt would end. Lakeland proceeded to outscore Rockford by the exact same 17-7 margin in the fourth en route to a 70-48 victory.
- D'Asia Washington tallied her third double-double in the last four games and her fourth overall this season. Washington finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds, a steal and an assist.
- Alyssa Havard finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
- Katie Paredes had 4 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals and 2 assists.
