ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's volleyball team took on the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders in a NACC matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Regents fell to MSOE in straight sets, 25-23, 25-22, and 25-15.
Amelia Rodriguez reached double-digits in kills, leading the team with 10.
Isabella Valdes and
Leila Cooks were the leading facilitators, totaling 16 and 11 assists.
In the digs department,
Carlie Buetsch and
Ashley Miller both reached 16, while
Keara Ross led the team with 18.
The first set was back and forth through its entirety. Rockford held a 21-18 lead before MSOE went on a 4-0 run and rode that momentum to a 25-23 victory.
The second set was almost a mirror version of the first. MSOE bounced out to an early lead before Rockford took control, holding a 21-19 lead late. The Raiders again reeled off a 4-0 run and took the set 25-22.
After two close battles, the final set was anything but. MSOE had firm control throughout and earned the sweep with a 25-15 win in set number three.
The Regents will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 29, when they host St. Norbert at 7 p.m. CDT in the Seaver Center.
