MEQUON, Wis. -- The Rockford University football team traveled north to take on the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons on Saturday afternoon. CUW pulled off a 35-0 victory.
Gage Hugart spent the majority of the game behind center, throwing for 84 yards on 15-of-21 passing.
On the ground,
Malik Gordon led the Regents with 53 yards on 12 carries.
Timothy Bearden finished with 5 catches for 15 yards and
William Key caught 3 catches for 13 yards.
Joey Alvarez filled up the stat sheet defensively, ending with 14 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, half a sack, and an interception.
Napoleon Williams added 6 tackles, a tackle-for-loss and 2 pass breakups.
The Regents fell behind early when CUW scored two minutes into the game. The offense struggled to get things going in the first half. The Falcons added two more touchdowns in the second quarter and took a 21-0 lead into the half.
Concordia Wisconsin picked up right where they left off out of the break. The Falcons scored twice more in the third quarter and rode the 35-0 lead all the way to the final horn.
The Regents will return on Saturday, Nov. 8, for Senior Day at noon against Wisconsin Lutheran.
