Ethan Higgins' first win as a collegiate head man, and it came right down to the wire. The Regents scored first in the 25th minute, as
Jose Lane Mendoza rose above the pack to knock in a header off a
Kavi Wadhwa assist. The Comets would not go away, totaling 14 shots and seven shots on goal, both of which led the game.
Wesley Pritzlaff came up huge in the goal for Rockford, finishing with a couple huge saves to seal a 1-0 victory in the season opener.
