ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Rockford University women's volleyball player Ashley Miller was named NACC Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday. Miller becomes the first RU women's volleyball player to win this award since 2007 and only the third person in program history. 

Miller had 24 kills and 57 digs as the Regents went 1-1 on the week, falling to Knox on Tuesday before defeating Concordia Chicago on Wednesday to start 1-0 in NACC conference play. In the victory over CUC, Miller totaled nine kills, 20 digs, and one assist. 

The Regents will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 2, with a 7 p.m. CDT NACC contest against Aurora at the Seaver Center.
