RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's basketball team fell to NACC conference opponent Dominican University, 69-44, on Wednesday.
Te Simpson notched her eighth double-double on the season with 20 points and 11 rebounds. She also recorded two blocks.
Unfortunately the Regents struggled to score. Simpson opened up the game with a layup, but it was all Dominican from that point on as the Stars found themselves up 37-11 at halftime.
The Regents did not quit, outscoring the Stars 18-13 in the third, and ultimately winning the second half, 33-32.
Turnovers hurt Rockford in the game committing 29. On the evening, the Regents shot 42.5% from the floor and struggled shooting from beyond the perimeter, shooting just 18.2%. The Regents were active on the glass, outrebounding the Stars 38-34.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 17, when they will host Marian University in the Seaver Center at 1 p.m. CST.
