Agee’s Career-Highs Powers Men’s Hoops Over Marian

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University men's basketball team extended its winning streak to five with the victory over Marian University, 74-63, on Saturday. 

Adrian Agee led the Regents pouring in 26 points and collecting seven rebounds, each of which were career-highs. Luke Stuckey and Tre Miller also scored in double-digits, each with 13 points. Kamren Hogan was active on the glass leading the team with eight rebounds. 

Rockford got off to a slow start offensively, as Marian was able to capitalize off of turnovers, scoring 12 points off of turnovers in the first half.   

The Sabres shot the ball well in the first half, shooting 64.00% from the floor and 57.14% from three, and held a 40-29 lead at halftime after Harper Krolak made a two-point jump shot to beat the buzzer. 

Everything turned around in the second half after Krolak made a layup to extend Marian's lead to 13, leading 42-29, the largest lead held all game for the Sabres. 

Rockford proceeded to go on a 13-0 run capped off by a triple from Miller assisted by Jaden Bell. The second-half shooting performance was the catalyst of the second half surge from the Regents. They shot 50% from the floor and 53.85% from three. 

The Regents regained the lead back after Stuckey knocked down a triple to pull the Regents ahead 47-44 to claim their first lead since the 15:47 mark in the first half, and never surrendered the lead again. 

Rockford's largest lead of the second half was 15, leading 74-59 in the final 32 seconds of game action. 

The Regents outscored the Sabres 45-23 in the second half. On the afternoon they shot 47.9% from the field and shot well from three, shooting 45.8%. Defensively, the Sabres were held to just 34.62% shooting in the second half. 

The Regents will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 21, when they will travel to St. Norbert College with tip off scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
