ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's basketball team was stifled by the St. Norbert College Green Knights on Wednesday evening.
Katie Paredes led both sides in scoring with 12 points. She also finished with five rebounds.
Te Simpson was held under her usual double-double standard, but still led the game in boards with seven.
The game started out competitive. Rockford held the lead for two minutes in the first quarter before St. Norbert started to pull away at the end of the period.
The Green Knights' suffocating defense blew this game wide open. They forced 10 turnovers in the second quarter alone, winning the period 19-2. The Regents were only able to manage five shot attempts in the quarter.
The second half was more of the same as the Regents struggled to get the ball to their stars inside. St. Norbert scored 36 points off turnovers for the game, and also outscored the Regents off the bench 36-2.
Camille Langlet was able to knock down a mid-range jump shot for the first points of her career in the fourth quarter. It wasn't enough to light a spark underneath the Regents, as they fell 70-28.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 24, when they head on the road to face Wisconsin Lutheran College at 1:00 p.m. CST in Milwaukee.
