WAUWATOSA, Wis. -- The Rockford University women's basketball team lost to Wisconsin Lutheran College, 81-38, on Saturday.
Te Simpson and
Sophia Hulsey scored in double figures for the Regents with 13 and 10 each. Simpson had a team-high eight rebounds.
Simpson scored the first basket for Rockford on the first possession, but Wisconsin Lutheran closed the quarter out on a 20-6 run.
After that run, the Regents struggled offensively and was outscored in the second quarter, 29-1.
The Regents still fought hard in the second half, as they tied the Warriors in the final 20 minutes 29-29, and won the fourth quarter 18-11.
On the afternoon, the Regents shot 38.2%, and 21.4% from behind the three-point line. Unfortunately for the Regents, turnovers were the story of the game, committing 32 of them.
The Regents will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 28, on the road again to face Benedictine University at 7:00 p.m. CST.
