LISLE, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's basketball team fell short to NACC conference opponent Benedictine University, 82-42, on Tuesday.
Kyla Wilkerson led the Regents offensively with a season-high 14 points with six rebounds.
Te Simpson also scored in double figures with 13 points while also coming down with 6 boards.
Theresa McCarver was active on the glass corralling 10 rebounds to go along with four points.
It was a struggle for the Regents from the opening tip as Benedictine scored six straight to start the game. Offensively, the Eagles exploded scoring 32 points in the first quarter. They went 11-18 from the field and 4-9 from three in the first 10 minutes of action.
The Regents tightened up defensively in the second quarter only allowing 12 points, but struggled offensively only putting up eight points in the next 10 minute stretch.
BU came out firing in the third quarter again shooting 50.00% and scored 24 points in the quarter.
In the fourth quarter the Regents tied the Eagles 14-14.
On the evening, the Regents struggled shooting 32.7% from the floor and 20% from beyond the perimeter.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 31, against NACC conference opponent, Lakeland University at 1 p.m. CST at the Seaver Center.
