ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University men's volleyball team hosted the Aurora University Spartans at the Seaver Center on Tuesday night. The Spartans came out with a victory after three sets.
Jordan Hurst led the team in kills with six.
Nathan Simons added five of his own while also leading the team with five digs.
Tsubasa Namai finished with a grand total of 17 assists in the match.
The first set was quick. Aurora scored the first six points of the set and ran out to a 10-1 lead. The Regents struggled to stop the Spartans attack, losing the first set 25-8.
The second set was more of the same. The Spartans took the first four points and would balloon their lead to 16-2. Rockford fought back, reeling off a 7-4 run before eventually succumbing 25-10.
The third set was much more competitive. Aurora once again took the upper hand, starting up 9-4, but the Regents wouldn't go away. Down 24-15, the Regents went on a 5-0 run to make things interesting before a service error ended their night.
The Regents will return to action on Friday, Feb. 13, when they kick off the Calvin University Invite with a 10:30 a.m. EST match against Adrian College.
