Men's Hoops Falls Short at Concordia Wisconsin

MEQUON, Wis. -- The Rockford University men's basketball team fell short against NACC conference opponent Concordia University Wisconsin, 91-87, on Wednesday. 

Five Regents scored in double figures. Jaden Bell led the Regents in scoring with 24 points while coming down with six rebounds. Adrian Agee added 16 points and led the team on the glass with eight rebounds while also recording three assists. Kamren Hogan, Tre Miller, and Luke Stuckey were the rest of the Regents that scored in double figures with with 16,11,13 respectively. 

The first half was high-scoring and very competitive, as Concordia Wisconsin led 47-42 at the break. Both teams shot the ball well in the half. Concordia Wisconsin shot 60.0% from the floor during the first 20 minutes of action and 25% from three. Rockford shot 41.18% and 38.36% from three. 

The Falcons started off strong in the second half, taking 58-49 lead. This was the largest lead on the evening for either team. The Regents however responded with a 21-11 spurt to take their first lead, when they found themselves up 70-69 after a Stuckey three-pointer, which was their first lead since the 2:34 mark in the first half. 

It was back-and-forth until the end, as there were seven lead changes in the final 10 minutes of the game. Unfortunately for the Regents, Concordia Wisconsin was successful with one last push to squeak by with a four-point win. 

On the evening, the Regents shot 50.0% from the floor and 38.1% from three.

The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 3:15 p.m. CST at Edgewood University in NACC action.
