ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University baseball team hosted the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers on Tuesday afternoon and fell short, 12-3.
The Regents will return to action tomorrow, April 22, for a road doubleheader against Edgewood College starting at 3 p.m. CDT.

Trent Lawrence continued raking, going 2-for-3 with a double.
Bryce Stanton and
Brady Norwood each had a solo homer in the game.
Colin Courier went 1-for-3 with an RBI double.
Ayden Smith started on the bump. He threw five innings, striking out two Rangers and giving up nine hits and six runs.
Brendan Fitzpatrick got an inning of action, giving up four unearned runs.
Nick Rich pitched the last three, striking out two and giving up two runs of his own.
The Rangers drew first blood. It took them two batters to score, after a leadoff double, and an RU error. The Regents failed to break through in the inning, as the score remained 1-0.
Neither team put a run on the board again until the bottom of the third. Stanton hit a solo bomb to left field to tie up the game at one apiece.
We stayed tied until the fifth. The Rangers put up five runs, with help from a Jackson Lindquist grand slam.Â
Down 6-1, Norwood led off the bottom half of the fifth with a solo shot of his own to left field. This cut the Ranger lead to four.
Parkside tacked on four more runs in the sixth off of two hits and three Regent errors to take a 10-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth.
Lawrence reached third with two outs on a wild play that consisted of two separate errors. Courier drove him in with a double to right-center to make it a 10-3 ballgame.
The Rangers hit home runs to lead off both the seventh and eighth innings. The Regents were held scoreless over the final three innings to lose, 12-3.
