BELOIT, Wis. -- The Rockford University women's soccer team fell to Beloit College, 7-1, in its second match of the season on Thursday.
Beloit scored the match's first goal in the ninth minute when Maggie Wood found the back of the net. Wood scored again in the 25th minute to put the Buccaneers up 2-0. Beloit continued to apply pressure, adding three more goals to take a 5-0 lead into halftime.
Miley McCarty scored in the 48th minute, but Beloit continued to bring the pressure as Wood completed her hat trick with her third goal in the 67th minute. Mikayla Campbell scored the match's final goal for the Buccaneers in the 74th minute.
Rockford was outshot by Beloit, 35-5.
Natasha Toc-Monrroy played the entire first half, making four saves.
Karina Zamarripa also made four saves in the second half.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 12, when they travel to Watertown, Wis., to face Maranatha Baptist University at noon.
