WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Rockford University women's soccer team fell to Maranatha Baptist University, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The match was scoreless until the 70th minute when Maranatha Baptist, which had no shots in the first half, scored on a penalty kick from Julia Kennedy. The Sabercats then scored three more goals in the final 20 minutes. Samantha Siply scored her first goal of the season in the 72nd minute, followed by Amelia Schroeder in the 80th minute. Caitlin Lundy scored the fourth and final goal of the match in the 83rd minute.
Rockford held the edge in shots, 19-8, including a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal.
The Regents will return to action on Wednesday when they host Concordia University Chicago at Sam Greeley Field at 2 p.m.
