RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Rockford University men's soccer team fell to Concordia University Chicago, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
The match was scoreless through the first 45 minutes, with Rockford's best scoring chance coming in the 36th minute when
Ian Jurgensen's shot was turned away by a save from Nethan Gudiel.
The score remained tied until the Cougars found the back of the net in the 84th minute on a goal from Damian Navas, assisted by Ronald Bardales.
Jose Lane Mendoza attempted one more shot on goal, but Gudiel made the save.
Rockford was outshot 20-8. Jurgensen led the Rockford offense with three shots, including one on goal, while Mendoza and
Bennett Abler each recorded two shots and Dorado recorded one.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Millikin University. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
