Wide receiver Joey Owens has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending October 10, 2021. Owens continued to put together one of the most impressive seasons for any player in program history this past Saturday against Concordia University Chicago. He hauled in 6 passes for 65 yards and scored 3 more touchdowns in Rockford's 35-13 victory. Owens currently leads the country in four categories and is ranked second in two more. He is ranked first in NCAA Division III in receiving touchdowns (14), receptions per game (9.8), total points (84) and total touchdowns (14). Owens is currently second in the country in receiving yards (851) and receiving yards per game (141.8). He is also on pace to shatter every single-season school receiving record and is already the RU career leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
