Regents Sink Raiders in Five Sets

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's volleyball team earned a huge five-set win on Senior Night against the MSOE Raiders. Rockford won the first two sets in thrilling fashion, before dropping the third and fourth sets to the Raiders. The Regents then fell behind by as many as five points in the fifth and deciding set before rallying late. Rockford fought off a match point and then scored the final three points to win the fifth set and the match 25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 16-25, 17-15. Statistically the match was about as even as even can get. Rockford had slight edges in kills (60-58), assists (55-53), aces (12-10) and digs (56-54), while MSOE had an advantage in total blocks (5-3). The win snaps a 10-game losing streak to MSOE and gives the Regents their first win over the Raiders since 2011.
