LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University softball team (9-13, 1-9 NACC) lost both games to Benedictine University (14-6, 6-2 NACC) on Tuesday night. The Regents were on pace to split with the Eagles in the night cap, but a late five-run rally, including a grand slam, secured the win for Benedictine.

Game 1
- Benedictine started off the scoring in the second and third after a slow first inning. A pair of ground-rule doubles in each inning scored the first two runs of the game to make it 2-0.
- Rockford pulled a run back in the bottom of the fourth when Michaela Spanbauer scored Emily Cox from third on a single. The score stood at 2-1.
- The Eagles were not done yet, scoring a run on a groundout, and scoring two more runs on a home run. to make it 5-1 in the fifth inning.
- Rockford scored a second run in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a fielding error that allowed Elizabeth Thomas to score. Rockford still trailed 5-2.
- Benedictine scored three more runs off a home run to left field in the seventh that gave the Eagles an 8-2 lead going into the final half inning.
- The Regents went down in order to end the game, Benedictine winning the first game 8-2.
Game 2
- Neither side got any offense going until Benedictine scored the opening run on a double to make the score 1-0.
- Rockford responded in the bottom of the inning when Lauren Zielinski scored on a fielding error to tie the game at one.
- The Regents took their first lead of the game thanks to an Elizabeth Thomas single that scored Emily Down and Jocelyn Callahan.
- Benedictine stalled on offense until the sixth inning. A home run to open the inning cut the Rockford lead to one at 3-2.
- The Eagles came into the top of the seventh needing a run to tie, and they scored off a single with only one out. Then Benedictine took the lead shortly after with a grand slam to make the game 7-3.
- Rockford couldn't mount a comeback and fell to Benedictine for a second time by a final score of 7-3.
