LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford University softball team earned one win in a pair of tight games against the St. Norbert College Green Knights on Tuesday afternoon. The Regents were in control to start both games, opening the scoring in game one and pulling away in the fourth inning to claim victory 3-2. Rockford built a lead to start game two, but a three-run sixth inning put the Regents behind, and they failed to recover, losing the nightcap 2-3.
Rockford 3 St. Norbert 2
- After a scoreless first and top of the second, Jocelyn Callahan worked her way to third base and was driven in by a Kariana Williams double to open the scoring 1-0.
- A St. Norbert triple followed by a single in the next half inning evened the score at one each.
- The Green Knights pulled into the lead behind a single that scored a runner from third, moving ahead 2-1.
- Jocelyn Callahan singled and was brought home on a triple by Kariana Williams to tie the game at two. The Regent's run wasn't over, Kariana Williams scored from third thanks to a sacrifice fly by Lauren Zielinski to take the lead 3-2.
- SNC threatened to tie the game again in the sixth with two runners in scoring position, but the Regents escaped the inning.
- After holding the Green Knights in the seventh, the Regents claimed victory in game one by a score of 3-2.
St. Norbert 3 Rockford 2
- The first Regents run came again in the bottom of the second with Jocelyn Callahan scoring on an error to make the contest 1-0.
- After no runs in the third, the Regents added on another when Michaela Froehlich knocked a single that scored pinch runner Olivia Lysaght from third to make it 2-0 Rockford.
- What looked to be a strong outing in game two turned sour in the sixth. Two costly errors in the inning along with multiple singles gave St. Norbert three straight runs on three straight at-bats. The Green Knights took the lead and held it 3-2.
- The Regents had two opportunities to try and score, but went down in order in both half innings, splitting the series with St. Norbert with a game two final score of 3-2.

- Kariana Williams hit 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and a double and a triple. She also scored once.
- Jocelyn Callahan finished 2-for-3 with a stolen base and 2 runs scored.
