ROCKFORD, Ill. - Rockford University utility player Jared Herzog earned his second postseason award of the year, when he was named First Team All-Region by D3baseball.com. This is Herzog's first all-region selection of his career, and he becomes the fifteenth baseball player in program history to be selected to a D3baseballl.com All-Region Team. He is also the first RU baseball player to be selected First Team All-Region since the 2019 season (Zack Jones) and the first ever at the utility position. 

Jared Herzog was the ace of the Regents' pitching staff and hit in the middle of the lineup for the entire year. He also finished in the top 20 in the conference in six pitching categories. At the conclusion of super regionals, he was third in the NACC in saves (1), seventh in strikeouts (70), thirteenth in wins (4), fifteenth in starts (9) and seventeenth in innings pitched (55.0) and earned run average (4.58). In addition to his pitching duties, Herzog also played first base and was a key cog in the RU lineup. He finished the year with a .303 batting average, an .804 OPS, 9 doubles, 3 home runs, 27 runs batted in and 17 runs scored.
