ROCKFORD, Ill. - Rockford University senior safety Reginald Jones Jr. has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. Jones becomes the first RU football player to be named to the D3football.com Team of the Week since 2020 and only the third defensive player in program history to receive the honor. 

Reginald Jones Jr. was a key cog in the RU defense during Saturday's 38-37 comeback win against St. Scholastica. Jones intercepted two passes in the fourth quarter to help Rockford outscore the Saints 17-7 over the final 15 minutes. He also tallied four total tackles and one tackle for loss.

Rockford will look to keep its momentum going when the Regents open NACC play on Saturday, September 16 at Eureka College. Kickoff is set for 1 PM.
