Regents Held Scoreless by Titans

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team fell 3-0 on the road Friday night to the Illinois Wesleyan University Titans. IWU scored a trio of goals in the first 26 minutes and never looked back. Rockford was outshot 33-7 in the match, including 17-4 in shots on goal. The Regents have now been held scoreless in their last two matches.

Recap Recap
  • The Titans broke the scoreless tie off a Faheem Mujahid goal in the ninth minute to grab a quick 1-0 lead.
  • IWU's Ryder Coleman then scored a pair of goals over a 63-second span midway through the first half to put the Titans out in front 3-0.
  • However, the Regent defense really began to settle in after that, as Rockford held the Titans scoreless for the remainder of the match.
  • Rockford had three shots on goal the rest of the way, but unfortunately, came up empty each time.
  • Tommy Sasfai, Omar Olivo and Bryan Maldonado were turned away in the 36th, 78th and 79th minutes as Rockford dropped its fifth straight match to open the season.
