ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's volleyball team fell to NACC conference opponent, Concordia University of Wisconsin 3-0 on Wednesday evening at the Seaver Center. Set scores were 25-13, 25-15, 25-11.
For RU offensively,
Amelia Rodriguez had a team-high five kills.
Jalyn Rhodes and
Tamsy Leverton recorded three and two kills respectively.
Leila Cooks led RU with assists totaling 10.
Keara Ross and
Ashley Miller each had 14 digs to lead the RU defense, while
Jayce Shaw,
Ashley Mersch, and Rhodes all had one block.
In the first set, CUC started out hot jumping out to a 10-3 lead, as the Falcons remained hot to never give up the lead to win the first.
The Regents scored first in the second set as a result of an attack error, as both teams were going back-and-forth to start the set. Tied at 7-7, the Falcons ran away with the set going on a 7-0 run, as the Regents never had it to within six after the run from the Falcons.
CUC had the lead the entire third set to ultimately win the match.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, with game matches at noon & 2 p.m. CDT at the Edgewood Triangular.
