ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced Tuesday morning that Rockford University senior pitcher/outfielder Bella Lima has been selected as the NACC Softball Pitcher of the Week. This marks the first time Lima has received the award, and she becomes the first RU pitcher to win a weekly award from the NACC since the 2019 season. 

Bella Lima was a perfect 3-0 with a save, a 0.70 earned run average and 16 strikeouts over her three starts and one relief appearance last week. Her best start inside the circle came against Lesley University. Lima surrendered just one hit and no runs over her five innings, while striking out six Lynx batters. Offensively, Lima posted a .348 batting average and a .565 slugging percentage. She had eight hits in her 23 at bats, including a double and two triples, scored eight runs, drove in seven more and was a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen bases. 

The RU softball team returns to the diamond on Thursday, March 20 at Beloit College. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 3 PM.
