PLYMOUTH, Wis. - The Rockford University men's volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-15) on the road Saturday afternoon at Lakeland University. Unfortunately, the Muskies were pretty much in control of the match from start to finish, as the Regents never led. Rockford was within striking distance, particularly in the first set, when the Regents had an edge in kills, 11 to 10. However, it was simply not meant to be, as the Muskies won their second straight meeting in the series.
- Lakeland scored the first three points of the match as a part of a larger 10-5 run to take an early lead.
- The Regents were able to get back to within four on several occasions, including at 17-13 after scoring four straight points.
- However, the Muskies ran off the next four points and went on to take the first set 25-16.
- After Lakeland scored the first two points of the second set, Rockford tied the score at 2-2 and then again at 3-3 on a Nathan Simons kill.
- Unfortunately, the Muskies promptly scored the next nine points to seize control of the set.
- Rockford never got any closer than seven the rest of the way, as the Muskies also won the second set by a final score of 25-16.
- The third set had a near identical start to it as the second with Rockford tying the score at 1-1 and 2-2 on kills by Nathan Simons and Isaiah Dixon.
- However, Lakeland proceeded to go on a 12-1 run to essentially end the match.
- The Regents were unable to get closer than eight the remainder of way, dropping the set 25-15 and the match 3-0.
