LISLE, Ill. - The Rockford University women's flag football team shutout Benedictine University for the second time this season with a 20-0 road win on Wednesday night. Neither team scored in the first quarter, but Rockford's

- Neither team was able to get much of anything going in the first quarter, as Rockford and Benedictine combined for a total of just 45 yards.
- Fortunately, it was a pair of big plays in the second quarter that turned things in the Regents' favor.
- Clare Strong hauled in a 57-yard touchdown pass late in the half to break the scoreless tie and put the Regents out in front 7-0.
- Strong then scored her second touchdown of the quarter on Benedictine's ensuing possession. She intercepted a pass and returned it 15 yards for the touchdown to give Rockford a 13-0 lead heading into the half.
- The Regents would tack on one final score late in the third quarter. Rockford needed just 6 plays to cover 47 yards and find the end zone. The RU drive was capped off by a 7-yard Clare Strong touchdown reception, her third score of the game, to give the Regents a 20-0 advantage.
- A twenty-point lead was more than enough for a Regent defense that stifled the Benedictine offense all night long. The Regents held the Eagles to just 125 yards of total offense and a measly 2.6 yards per play.
- The Eagles never got back to within striking distance in the second half as Rockford rolled to a 20-0 win.
