FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Rockford University women's flag football team competed in the NACC Tournament on Saturday, defeating Benedictine University in the NACC Semifinal game 6-0, and falling short to Aurora University, 33-6 in the Championship game.
Quentasia Mills and
Gina Neils were selected to the NACC Women's Flag Football All-Tournament Team.
The Regents will return to action on Monday, April 27, to face Bryant & Stratton College at 7 p.m. CDT.
NACC Semifinal: Rockford 6, Benedictine 0
Mills started at quarterback, going 16-31 for 76 yards and an interception.
Mills also led the ground attack with eight carries for 91 yards and the game's only touchdown.
Tekiyah Gray made seven receptions with 21 total yards receiving.
Maureen Shelton and
Mercedes Morales had four grabs while Shelton led the team in receiving yards with 31, and Morales was just two yards back with 29.
Mills was also active defensively with a sack and three tackles, all of which went for a loss.
Kezia Jolicoeur led the team with seven tackles.
It was a defensive struggle for three straight quarters as both defenses showed up in the second game of the day in NACC semifinal action; that was until Mills exploded for a 31-yard touchdown run with 1:18 left in the game on a seven-play 66-yard drive that took 3:49. The PAT attempt was no good as Rockford led 6-0.
The Regents held strong defensively one last time, forcing a turnover on downs to advance to the championship game.

Mills took the majority of the snaps with a season-high 156 passing yards, going 18-27. She also once again broke the century mark, with 114 yards rushing off 17 carries.
Shelton had led the team in receptions with six, with 41 total receiving yards and the lone touchdown.
Te Simpson and Morales each made five catches with 54 and 52 total yards receiving, respectively.
Jolicoeur led the Regents with eight tackles and had all three sacks.
Rockford drew first blood when Mills threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Shelton on a three-play drive, which took 1:07, as the PAT attempt failed, and the Regents led 6-0.
Unfortunately for the Regents, they were unable to generate offense the rest of the game, as Aurora exploded offensively, taking the lead at halftime 27-6.
The Spartans scored their last touchdown in the third to seal the NACC Championship on a three-play 66-yard drive, which took 1:23.
