ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced Tuesday morning that Rockford University senior outfielder Joseph Stagowski has been selected as the NACC Baseball Position Player of the Week. This is Stagowski's second NACC Position Player of the Week award of his career (2024), but it is the first weekly award this season for the RU baseball program. 

Joseph Stagowski posted a .476 batting average, a .571 on-base percentage and a 1.143 slugging percentage to lead the Regents to a 5-1 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark in NACC play last week. The senior had 6 doubles, a triple, 2 home runs, 9 RBIs, 9 runs scored, 6 walks and 0 strikeouts. He had at least one hit in every game, including four multi-hit performances. Stagowski also scored in a run in five games and drove in a run in five games, including four games where he did both. 

The RU baseball team will look to clinch a NACC Tournament berth when the Regents host Dominican University on Tuesday, April 30. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for noon.
