Williams Breaks Long Jump Record at NACC Championships

RIPON, Wis. -- The Rockford University women's indoor track & field team competed at the NACC Indoor Championships over the last two days.

Day One

Mariah Williams finished ninth overall in the triple jump, with her best jump ending up at 10.19m (33-05.25).

Ashley Mersch finished with 1591 points in the women's pentathlon. She was third in the shot put portion, with a throw of 9.35m (30-08.25).

The Regents competed in a distance medley, with Isabella Trout, Malia Niles, Donna Whiteside, and Courtney Murphy finishing seventh with a time of 15:31.74.

Day Two

It was a successful second day for Mariah Williams. She broke her own indoor long jump record with a jump of 4.81m (15-09.50), which placed her in ninth. She also recorded a 28.74 time in the 200m.

Ella Oldham also competed in both the long jump and the 200m. She jumped 3.74m (12-03.25) and finished the 200 in 37.38.

Brianna Torres competed in multiple races. She finished 15th in the 800m with a time of 2:43.51 and 14th in the mile with a time of 6:09.70.

Donna Whiteside ran the 800m, finishing in 3:12.02.

Courtney Murphy recorded a personal best in the mile, placing 12th with a time of 5:55.23.

Ashley Mersch built off of her day one with an even better shot put, finishing with a personal best 9.73m (31-11.25).

The Regents capped off the event with the 4x400m. Torres, Mersch, Murphy, and Isabella Trout put up a season best time, finishing eighth with a time of 5:00.04.

That concludes the Regents' indoor season. They will return to action on Saturday, Mar. 28, with the St. Norbert Early Bird Meet in De Pere, Wis.
