MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Rockford University women's track & field program competed at the NACC Outdoor Championships that were hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College on both Friday and Saturday and placed ninth overall.
Haylee West broke a program record in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 13:09.96, breaking the record by a near two seconds.
Mariah Williams ran the 100m preliminaries in 13.14 to place sixth, qualifying for the finals. In the finals, Williams broke her own program record clocking in at 12.84 to finish seventh.
Ella Oldham was the other Regent who competed in the preliminaries and finished in 15.06, placing 21st.
Brianna Torres,
Courtney Murphy, and
Donna Whiteside all ran the 800m preliminaries. Torres clocked in at 2:39.43 to finish 17th to set a PR. Murphy ran the 800 in 2:47.78, placing 21st while Whiteside finished in 28th with a time of 3:02.66.
In the 400m Hurdles,
Isabella Trout finished in 12th place with a time of 1:19.42.
Williams also competed in the 200m preliminaries and placed eighth with a time of 27.37, and also qualified for the finals. In the 200m finals she also broke her own program record running the 200 in 26.30.
Torres and Trout ran the 10,000m placing 11th and 12th respectively. Torres ran the 10,000 in 44:15.60 to set another PR while Trout finished in 44:49.25, also setting a PR.
Williams, Oldham,
Ashley Mersch, and West competed in the 4X100m Relay and finished with a time of 54.64 to finish fifth.
In the 1500m, Trout led the Regents placing 18th with a time of 5:32.82. Murphy was just three seconds behind clocking in at 5:35.83, while Whiteside ran the 1500 in 6:53.15 to place 26th.
Rounding out the track events for Rockford in the 4X400m Relay was Whiteside, Trout, Murphy, and Torres who placed ninth with a time of 4:54.18.
In the field events, Mersch competed in the Discus and Shot Put. In the Discus, Mersch made a throw of 39.93m (131-0) to place fourth. In the Shot Put she placed 19th with a throw of 9.26m (30-4.75).
Williams also participated in two field events for the Regents in both the triple and long jumps. In the Triple Jump, Williams jumped 10.51m (34-5.75) to finish sixth and in the Long Jump placed 12th with a jump of 4.59m (15-0.75).
Oldham also competed in the Long Jump, jumping 4.01m (13-2) to finish 16th to record her longest jump of the season.
The Regents will return to action on Friday, May 8, at the Augustana Pentultimate Qualifier.
