ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Rockford University women's outdoor track and field student-athlete Ashley Mersch was named to the USTFCCCA All-Region Team on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

To qualify for the All-Region Team, student-athletes must finish among the top eight individuals in each event within their region on the year-end Athletic.net Descending Order Lists. Members of the region's top-eight relay teams also earn All-Region honors. Regions recognized by the USTFCCCA include the Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, Northeast, South, and West.

Mersch earned All-Region honors in the discus throw after ranking seventh in the Midwest Region with a mark of 44.25m (145' 2"), recorded at the Augustana Pentultimate Qualifier on May 8. She concluded the outdoor season ranked 29th nationally in NCAA Division III in the discus throw.
