MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Rockford University men's volleyball team lost to NACC conference opponent Wisconsin Lutheran College, 3-0, on Saturday. Set scores were 25-7, 25-11, 25-11.
Nathan Simons,
Jordan Hurst, and
Carter Moore all had two kills.
Ethan Pedroza had one ace while
PJ Peden had a team-high four assists.
Pedroza led the team with five digs and Bowling rounded out the defensive production with three blocks.
Wisconsin Lutheran dominated the first set and led the entire match, jumping out to a 14-3 lead early in the first set, the Warriors kept their foot on the gas to end the set on an 11-4 run to take the first.
Rockford struggled in the second set, the best stretch of the set for the Regents was a 3-0 spurt, but not enough to overcome a 17-5 deficit early. The Warriors eventually responded to go on a 4-0 run and went up 2-0.
The Regents kept pace as the Warriors held a 12-9 advantage early in the third set. Wisconsin Lutheran answered to go on a 4-0 run which was stopped by a kill from Moore for Rockford. Unfortunately for the Regents, the Warriors scored eight unanswered to seal the deal in the match.
The Regents will return to action on Wednesday, March 18, when they will travel to NACC conference opponent, Wisconsin Lutheran College at 7 p.m. CDT.
