OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The Rockford University women's flag football team defeated University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 14-6, on Thursday.
Quentasia Mills eclipsed the century mark, rushing for 134 yards on 17 rushing attempts. Mills also completed two passes for 35 yards.
Mercedes Morales made one catch for 30 yards, while
Reem Aldi caught one pass for five yards.
Lucie Mapendano and
Kezia Jolicoeur both had a team-high eight tackles. Jolicoeur had two sacks, and Morales was active in the secondary with two pass breakups and one interception.
Rockford drew first blood in the first quarter when Mills put six on the board with a 24-yard rushing touchdown; the Regents converted on the extra point to make it 7-0.
After a scoreless second quarter,
Gina Neils then ran it in for a three-yard score on a five-play 66-yard drive. The Regents converted on another PAT attempt as they extended their lead to two scores, leading 14-0.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh scored one touchdown late in the fourth on a 13-play 63-yard dive, which took 4:49, but was too late for the Titans as the Regents were able to get their third victory on the year.
The Regents will return to action on Monday, April 6, when they will take on Bryant & Stratton College at 3 p.m. CDT.
