ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University men's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons in a Sunday afternoon NACC showdown. The Regents played their first game back on campus at Sam Greeley Field. Statistically, it was a close match, with the Falcons holding a slight 15-13 advantage in shots and a slight 4-3 advantage in shots on goal. However, the Falcons were able to get on the board early with a goal in the 14th minute and later scored again in the 84th minute en route to the win over Rockford.
- The Falcons were able to strike first with a goal in the 14th minute by Harris Burgos, Burgos was assisted on the play by Elliott Cook to give CUW an early lead.
- The Regents quickly tried to find the equalizer with two shots by Abraham Gonzalez and one by Rejhan Jakupi, but none of their attempts were able to find the net, keeping the Regents scoreless.
- The Regents got another good opportunity to tie the game up with a shot in the 40th minute by Ian Jurgensen, but his shot was saved by the Falcon keeper, keeping it a 1-0 Falcon lead going into the half.
- Rockford and CUW battled to open the second half, with each team trading shots, with no result from it, keeping it a 1-0 game.
- CUW was able to strike yet again in the 84th minute on a goal from Alishan Sharipov who was assisted by Vladimir Campos to give the Falcons the 2-0 advantage.
- The Regents had a chance to cut the CUW lead in half in the 88th minute with a penalty kick awarded to Javier Palacios, but the Falcon keeper was able to keep RU scoreless.
- Rockford was unable to get anything going for the remainder of the contest the Falcons were able to hold on for the 2-0 win.
