CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Rockford University women's volleyball team fell in four sets to the Illinois Institute of Technology Scarlet Hawks on Friday evening.
Amelia Rodriguez paced the team in kills with 4.
Tamsy Leverton contributed 3 as well.
Keara Ross and
Ashley Miller did what they normally do, racking up the digs with 17 and 16 respectively.
Leila Cooks, along with her 14 digs, led the team in assists with 8.
The first set was back and forth until the Scarlet Hawks reeled off a 10-2 run to snatch a 25-16 win.
Illinois Tech found themselves in the driver seat for most of set #2, eventually winning 25-18.
Rockford fought back in the third set, jumping out to 9-2 and 15-8 leads before the Scarlet Hawks roared back to tie things up at 20. IIT actually took a 22-21 lead before the Regents scored four times in a row to win the third set.
The Regents pulled ahead 8-2 in the fourth set, but from then on it was all Scarlet Hawks all the time, outscoring Rockford 23-9 on the way to a victory and a 3-1 win in the match.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 8, for Senior Night and their final game of the season against Marian at 5 P.M. CDT.
