PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The Rockford University men's indoor track & field team competed at the UW-Platteville Invite on Saturday.
Amro Shammakh tied his indoor long jump record, with a jump of 6.54m (21-5.50) which placed him second in the event.
On the track,
Marquavion Young ran the 60m dash in 7.94 to place 46th. In the 400m dash, Young clocked in at 57.49 to finish 25th.
Nahome Zere also ran both the 60m and 400m dash. Zere ran the 60m dash with a time of 8.01 to place 48th and ran the 400m dash in 59.42 to place 27th.
In the mile,
Nicholas Greenland placed 18th with a time of 4:53.44. In the 3000m race, he placed fifth with a time of 9:58.97.
James Wallis competed in the mile and 800m run. Wallis completed the mile with a time of 5:08.83 and 800m run in 2:22.53 to place 25th and 31st respectively.
Troy Niles ran the mile in 5:43.27, placing 29th, and finished the 800m run in 2:31.45 to place 33rd.
In the 400m, dash
Gavin Collier placed 18th clocking in at 55.01.
Miles Lang ran the 800m run with a time of 2:07.37 to place 21st.
To cap off the track events, Lang, Young,
Jack Potter, and Wallis placed third, with a time of 3:56.76 in the 4X400m relay.
In the field events,
Anthony Joyner placed 27th in Shot Put with a throw of 11.89 (39-0.00) to finish 27th.
The Regents have the weekend off before returning to action at the NACC Indoor Championship in Ripon, Wis., on Friday, Feb. 27.
