Men's Track & Field Competes at the NACC Outdoor Championships

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Rockford University men's track & field team competed at the NACC Outdoor Championships that were hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College on both Friday and Saturday. 

Gavin Collier, Nahome Zere, Marquavion Young, and Jack Potter all competed in the 400m preliminaries. Collier placed 15th with a time of 52.83 to record a PR, while Zere ran it in 56.00 placing 24th to also set a PR. Young was .90 seconds behind finishing in 25th with a time of 56.90, and Potter clocked in at 57.18, to finish 27th. 

Miles Lang, James Wallis, and Troy Niles all ran in the 800m preliminaries. Lang finished with a time of 2:02.18 to place 14th. Wallis and Niles placed 33rd and 34th respectively as Wallis ran the 800 in 2:19.26 while Niles ran a time of 2:28.79 to set a PR. 

Collier, Potter, Young, and Zere also ran the 200m preliminaries. Collier led the Regents placing 30th clocking in at 24.63, Potter was just behind with a 31st place finish with a time of 24.76, Young placed 33rd with a time of 24.96, setting a PR, and Zere ran the 200 in 25.41, finishing 35th. 

Nicholas Greenland was the lone Regent in the 10000m setting a PR with a 10th place finish with a time of 34:27.44. 

In the 1500m, Lang and Niles set PRs. Lang placed 12th with a time of 4:15.50 while Niles finished 31st with a time of 4:56.18. 

Lang led the way for Rockford in the 5000m finishing 16th with a time 16:44.38 to set another PR while Greenland was one back from Lang with a 17th place finish clocking in at 16:45.13. 

Collier, Young, Potter, and Zere all ran the 4X400m Relay and finished ninth with a time of 3:41.04.
