BELOIT, Wis. -- The Rockford University men's outdoor track & field team competed at the Beloit Relays on Friday and finished fourth overall.
On the track,
Miles Lang placed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:22.34.
Troy Niles ran the 1500m run in 5:05.12 to finish in sixth.
Gavin Collier,
Nahome Zere, and
Jack Potter all ran the 400m dash and all placed fifth, seventh, and ninth respectively. Collier ran the race in 53.31 while Zere and Potter clocked in at 56.62 and 56.98 respectively.
In the 100m dash,
Marquavion Young finished in 13th with a time of 12.36 while Collier placed 16th, running the race in 12.76.
Lang and Niles also competed in the 800m run. Lang finished sixth with a time of 2:04.66 while Niles ran the race in 2:30.19 to place 11th.
In the 200m dash, Young and Zere placed fifth and seventh respectively. Young ran the race in 24.99 while Zere clocked in at 25.57.
Nicholas Greenland was the lone Regent who competed in the 5000m run and placed second overall with a time of 17:07.40, finishing just under five seconds from first place.
Rounding out the track events for the Regents were Young, Collier, Potter, and Zere. They ran the 4X400m relay and finished fourth with a time of 3:44.01.
In the field events,
Anthony Joyner finished second overall in Shot Put with a throw of of 13.59m (44-7.00). Joyner also competed in the discus throw with a throw of 34.08m (111-10.00) to place seventh.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, April 18, at the Green and White Invitational.
