KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Rockford University men's indoor track & field team finished in sixth place at the Tadd Metzger Invite at Carthage College on Saturday.
Amro Shammakh broke his own record in the Long Jump, jumping 6.54m (21-5.50) to place seventh.
In the track events,
Nahome Zere ran the 55m in 7.54 to finish 25th and the 200m with a time of 27.12 to place 27th.
Gavin Collier ran the 200m and 400m races, completing the 200m with a time of 26.14 to finish in 24th place and the 400m race in 56.28 to place ninth.
Marquavion Young also ran both the 200m and 400m races. He ran the 200m with a time of 26.21 to finish 25th overall and 400m with a time of 58.62 to finish in 12th place.
Miles Lang ran the 800m with a time of 2:10.38 and 3000m in 9:38.26 to place 10th and fourth respectively.
Nicholas Greenland participated in the 1000m and 3000m races to finish in sixth and seventh place individually in each event. In the 1000m, Greenland finished the race in 2:54.79 and finished with a time of 9:44.68 in the 3000m race.
James Wallis also competed in both the 1000m and 3000m races. He ran the 1,000m race in 3:06.77 to place ninth and the 3000m in 10:10.99 to finish 10th.
Troy Niles ran the mile with a time of 5:45.54, placing 32nd overall.
To finish off the track events, Collier,
Jack Potter, Young, and Zere ran the 4X400 relay with a time of 3:53.99 and finished seventh overall.
In the rest of the field events, Potter jumped 1.78m (5-10.00), placing fifth. In the shot put,
Anthony Joyner's best throw was 12.93m and also finished in fifth place.
The Regents will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 14, when they will compete at the UW-Platteville Invite.
