This one couldn't have started any better for the Regents. They marched down and scored on the first drive of the game. Neils took a direct snap 37 yards to the house to give them a 7-0 lead.
On the second play of the ensuing North Park drive, Neils jumped a slant route for an interception and put the offense in prime position. Mills would catch a two-yard touchdown from Camacho-Anderson two plays later to go up 13-0.
Early in the second quarter, Mills was able to break away down the left sideline for a 57-yard touchdown run to put RU in the driver's seat 19-0. North Park would finally hit pay dirt late in the second quarter and make it a 19-6 halftime score.
Over the course of the second half, the Vikings pulled themselves back into the game. Rockford's offense stalled out, scoring no points in the second half. The Vikings picked off Camacho-Anderson with just over a minute to go and scored to bring the game within one. They elected to go for two and take the lead, which wasn't successful. The Regents escaped with a 19-18 win.
Game Two: Aurora 33, Rockford 0
Amari Camacho-Anderson once again led the team in passing, going 8-of-15 for 48 yards and two picks.
Quentasia Mills also got some snaps as the signal caller, going 6-of-12 for 39 yards.
Mills was a focal point of the offense once again, rushing for 70 yards on 11 carries.
Tekiyah Gray notched four receptions for 26 yards, while
Gina Neils had three catches for 28 yards.
Neils led the way defensively with seven flag pulls.
Kezia Jolicoeur pulled three flags and had a sack.
This game was much different than RU's first. Neither offense was able to score in the first quarter. The first points of the game came early in the second quarter off an Aurora pick-six.
That play influenced the rest of the game for the Regent offense. They could never get into a rhythm or convert in enemy territory.
The Spartans' offense was firing on all cylinders. Quarterback Kaylin Morgan threw four touchdowns to four different receivers en route to a 33-0 final.
