LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Rockford University women's volleyball team dropped a nonconference match 3-0 on the road Tuesday evening at Lake Forest College. The Foresters controlled the stat lines with large advantages in both kills (41-22) and service aces (11-4). However, all three sets were close until the midway point, when Lake Forest began to seize control. The Foresters eventually went on to win the match 25-18, 25-14, 25-16.
- The Regents quickly fell behind 11-4 in the first set.
- However, Rockford promptly went on a 7-2 run to pull back within two points at 13-11. Della Crain and Amelia Rodriquez each tallied a kill over that span.
- Unfortunately, the Foresters responded with a 7-2 run of their own, to make it 20-13.
- Rockford was unable to get any closer than six the rest of the way, as Lake Forest won the first set and took a 1-0 lead.
- Rockford used a 5-0 run in the second set en route to taking an early 9-6 advantage. Five different Regents had a kill over the first 15 points, led by two from Amelia Rodriquez.
- Unfortunately, Lake Forest scored 10 of the next 11 points and took a 16-10 lead.
- The Regents were unable to get any closer than four the rest of the way, dropping the second set 25-14.
- The Regents once again got off to an excellent start in the third set. Rockford scored 11 of the first 18 points, led by a trio of kills and a service ace from Melody Moreno.
- However, Lake Forest again strung together a large 11-2 run and grabbed an 18-13 advantage.
- Rockford was unable to get any closer than four the rest of the match, as the Foresters won the third set 25-16 and the match 3-0.
